SUMMARY:Boardwalk Talk: Mark Woods Presents A Year in Our National Parks
DESCRIPTION:Beaches Museum and Timucuan Parks Foundation welcome Mark Woods\, columnist for The Florida Times-Union\, to share about spending one year in the national parks\, working on a project about the future of the parks\, and how it renewed his appreciation for the national park in his own backyard\, the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. His journey started with a January 1st sunrise in Maine’s Acadia National Park and ended with a December 31st sunset in Hawaii’s Haleakala National Park. In the middle of the journey\, Mark lost his mother—an event that changed the year\, his project and subsequent book\, “Lassoing the Sun: A Year in America’s National Parks.” A book signing will follow the presentation. \nThis event is free to Museum members with a suggested $5 donation for non-members. Register online or call 904-241-5657 for more information.
