SUMMARY:Aquafest
DESCRIPTION:Admission to MOSH is free on this day courtesy of the Jacksonville Environmental Protection Board. \nCome join Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve at MOSH to learn how the National Park Service protects historic structures using living shorelines. Through a hands-on activity\, you’ll be able to see the real benefits of living shorelines and why they are great for the environment. You’ll also be able to design your own living shoreline to display at home! \nThis activity is presented by the National Park Service and held as part of our 20th anniversary exhibition at MOSH. \nTPF will also present its Wetlands Enviroscape model where you can learn how to protect our waterways no matter how far you may be from them. \nThank you to Berry & Co. Real Estate for sponsoring the engagement activities for the “Celebrate & Explore Our Wilderness Parks” 20th anniversary exhibition. Visit our 20th anniversary celebration page for the schedule of other activities.

SUMMARY:Healthy Living Series Walk: Art in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Research shows both positive mental and spiritual effects when people have access to nature. The therapeutic potential of natural parks relies on its complexity\, mystery\, and power—all elements that foster restorative effects in people. Relax\, observe\, breathe\, and capture that feeling as we take a one-mile guided walk through the arboretum and then try our hand at “plein air” (open air) painting or drawing. \nPreregistration is required. Preregister for this and other walks. \n
