Space is limited\, so reserve your spot now.\nTimucuan Parks Foundation and the National Park Service invite you to the 9th Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve Science and History Symposium on Friday\, January 28\, 2022 at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island in Jacksonville\, Florida. \nCultural and natural resources have a shared history of over 6\,000 years within the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. The interaction between nature and humans is evident…from the spoil islands to the altered wetlands\, from the shell middens of the Theodore Roosevelt Area to the tabby structures of Kingsley Plantation and from the boat docks of neighboring subdivisions to the introduction of exotic animals and plants. The Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve is a place where natural and cultural resources connect. \nLOCATION:\nRibault Club\, 11241 Fort George Rd\, Jacksonville\, FL 32226.\nLocated off of Heckscher Drive/A1A via I-295. Also accessible via the St. Johns River Ferry from the Mayport area and A1A.\n \nCheck-in opens at 8:00 a.m. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. \nThe Science and History Symposium is a place to:\n\nConnect natural and cultural researchers\, community residents\, and National Park Service personnel at Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve\nIdentify partners for conducting research within the Preserve\nShare success stories of researchers who have contributed to the management and interpretation of the Preserve’s resources\nCommunicate about the resources\, research opportunities\, and protocols of the Preserve.\n\nThis event is open to the public and is presented by the Timucuan Parks Foundation\, National Park Service\, and Talbot Islands State Parks.
