DESCRIPTION:Calling all nature enthusiasts! Join us at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Education Campus to kick off City Nature Challenge as we document the biodiversity around the campus. TPF will be demonstrating how to use the iNaturalist.org app to identify plants and wildlife so you can share your findings with other nature-enthusiasts that also helps scientists!  \n\n\n\nStarted in 2016 as a competition between Los Angeles and San Francisco\, the City Nature Challenge (CNC) has grown into an annual\, international\, four-day global bioblitz at the end of April\, where cities in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal.  \n\n\n\nHere’s how you can participate:  \n\n\n\n\nDownload the iNaturalist app before you arrive. \n\n\n\nJoin us at the bioblitz event on April 26.\n\n\n\nSnap photos in the app and share your findings with the world! \n\n\n\n\nJoin us on April 26 or click on the link below to learn more about the full schedule of City Nature Challenge activities: jacksonvillezoo.org/community-science

SUMMARY:World Migratory BIrd Day
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the spring migration as birds from around the world make Timucuan Preserve’s thousands of acres their temporary home. This year’s spring migration here in the park also lines up with National Park Week! \n\n\n\nTimucuan Preserve invites you to enjoy: \n\n\n\n\nspecial arts and crafts\n\n\n\nhikes\n\n\n\nthe Great Migration Obstacle Course\n\n\n\nand spotting scope chats\n\n\n\n\nTag along with the Duval Audubon Society free bird hikes during the event. These hikes are great for beginners and experienced birders alike. Hikes will be approximately 1 hour. \n\n\n\nVisit the Timucuan Parks Foundation table to learn how you can help Timucuan Preserve — volunteer\, join as a member\, or donate. And check out the new Young Professionals group providing more opportunities to engage with the parks! \n\n\n\nAll activities are free and open to the public.
