DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed to help clean up Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park on Tuesday\, Sept. 2\, after the Labor Day Holiday. Please meet us at the park at 8 a.m. and let the gate attendant know you are there for the Timucuan Parks Foundation cleanup event to receive free entry. \n\n\n\nWe ask that you wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes. A hat is highly recommended. Bring your work gloves (if you have them)\, sunscreen\, insect repellent\, and a full reusable water bottle. We will have work equipment\, additional water\, snacks\, and extra insect repellent. \n\n\n\nChildren under 16 must be supervised by their parent/guardian or scout leader. Anyone under 18 must have a parent/guardian’s signature on the liability waiver before starting work. The waiver and a form to join TPF’s volunteer list can be accessed at https://www.timucuanparks.org/volunteer/. You can also earn community service hours at this event. SUMMARY:Exchange Club Island Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers can join Timucuan Parks Foundation on Sept. 5 to clean up Exchange Club Island underneath the Matthews Bridge. Exchange Club Island is only accessible by water\, and volunteers must RSVP to Felicia Boyd\, fboyd@timucuanparks.org\, to arrange transport to the island. Volunteers will meet at Metropolitan Park to get to the island\, which is about 34 acres and includes a boat dock\, two picnic shelters\, and a nature trail. \n\n\n\nTPF asks that you wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes.
