Join this free expert-led bird hike through the Timucuan Preserve, a great way to explore the preserve. Birding 101 includes an overview of how to use binoculars, field guides, and various field marking to identify birds. The park has a limited supply of binoculars that can be borrowed free of charge. Participants are encouraged to bring water and to wear insect repellent, closed-toed shoes, sun screen, and a hat. People of all ages and skill levels are welcomed. This hike is organized by the National Park Service and Duval Audubon Society. Click here for more information.
All hikes meet at the Fort Caroline visitor center at 10:00 a.m. for registration. Spanish Pond is located across from the park visitor center at Fort Caroline (12713 Fort Caroline Rd).
