Close to Fort Caroline National Memorial, this 600-acre natural area within the Timucuan Preserve has over 5 miles of hiking trails winding through one of North Florida’s most pristine areas. Take in the views from the overlook at Round Marsh or the bluffs along St. Johns Creek on the Timucuan Trail.

Wildlife viewing includes Florida water birds, woodpeckers, hawks, wrens, armadillos, raccoons, gopher tortoises, and more.

Access is from the main trailhead located behind the Timucuan Preserve headquarters building (via the entry gate to the right of the HQ gate) or from the Spanish Pond trailhead opposite the main entrance of Fort Caroline. Obtain trail guides at the Fort Caroline National Memorial Visitor Center.
