February 2 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Join Timucuan Parks Foundation for a special “Hike into History” program with National Park Service Ranger Josh Salestrom as he does a deep dive into the history and natural resources of Cedar Point, one of Jacksonville’s premier parks. We will walk to the boat ramp, the Fitzpatrick Ruins, and the scenic bridge connecting the National Park Service’s property with the City of Jacksonville’s Cedar Point Preserve with a number of educational stops along the way. The surface is natural and flat (total distance about 2.75 miles).
Meet at Cedar Point (the National Park Service site) 9023 Cedar Point Road Jacksonville, FL, 32226 (drive all the way to the end of Cedar Point Road. Do NOT stop at the city’s Cedar Point Preserve)
Participants should dress for the weather, wear closed-toed shoes and a hat, and carry a bottle of water.
The event is free, but please register here.
