Park(ing) Day in Downtown Jacksonville

September 19 @ 10:00 am 3:00 pm

Downtown Jacksonville is being transformed into mini-public parks on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Timucuan Parks Foundation will be there. We are joining the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) for Park(ing) Day, a global event that will transform parking spaces at the corner of Hogan St. and Independent Dr. into mini public parks to promote safe, greener, and more equitable streets.

Visit us at our Park(ing) space, where we will be turning it into a scene you might find in one of Jacksonville’s wilderness parks and preserves. You can learn about the principles of Leave No Trace: Enjoy Nature, Protect Nature, hear about what we do as stewards of the parks and preserves, and how you can become a member.

Park(ing) Day is a global event where paid car parking spaces are turned into temporary public micro-parks. The purpose is to advocate for more green, walkable urban spaces.
