March 15 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Timucuan Parks Foundation will be leading cleanups for the St. Johns River Cleanup and Celebration organized by the City of Jacksonville and Keep Jacksonville Beautiful on Saturday, March 15. Volunteers will be removing litter and debris from area parks, boat ramps and neighborhoods around the city.
Cleanups will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park at 500 Wonderwood Drive and Reddie Point Preserve at 4499 Yachtsman Way. Volunteers for Hanna Park should mention at the entry gate they are cleanup volunteers in order to be admitted free.
All volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring work gloves (if you have them), sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, sunglasses and a reusable water bottle. TPF will have additional work gloves, equipment and supplies and will provide snacks and water.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome and are eligible for community service hours. Those under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or youth leader. Click here to download a waiver.
