Fort George Firefly Walk with IXIA Native Plant Society

Join us for a magical Firefly Walk with IXIA Native Plant Society at Fort George Island Cultural State Park. Each spring, for only a short time, fireflies or lighting bugs appear in Timucuan Preserve. For a few weeks usually in April (weather permitting) the forests of the park put on a delightful show. Join a Park Ranger for a leisurely paced hike on Fort George Island to discover the island’s natural communities. Participants are encouraged to bring insect repellent and bottled water. This program will take place at the Ribault Club on Fort George Island Cultural State Park.  No reservations are necessary and the program is free.
