The nonprofit was chosen for its outstanding online reviews
Timucuan Parks Foundation is pleased to announce it has been selected as a “2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits, a leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits. TPF supports local city, state and national parks in northeast Florida through community programs, public education and outreach, and volunteer coordination. Through their efforts over the last 20 years, they have promoted the parks as places that instill a sense of place and sense of well-being for the community.
“Receiving this designation is a wonderful honor for us and a great tribute to our efforts to promote our extensive park system,” said Mark Middlebrook, executive director of TPF. “We have the largest park system in the U.S. We are thankful to all the volunteers who have helped us this past year and for our board members who have been great champions of our parks.”
The Top-Rated Nonprofit Award is based on the rating and number of reviews that TPF received from board members, volunteers and supporters of the organization.
Dan Lehmann wrote, “I have volunteered with them for years. They are an outstanding organization that does great work for the greater Jax area. They preserve, protect and enhance the many different types of parks we have in our large geographic city. Shoreline cleanups, invasive species removal and promoting outdoor activities in these parks are some of the things that they do. I like that they get lots of high school kids involved in these events. The kids get community service hours and the community gets a better environment because of it. Win, win. Great organization.”
