Update on Timucuan Park Openings and Closures

PARK CLOSURES DUE TO HURRICANE IRMA DAMAGE

Please see below for the latest on Timucuan Park closures and openings.  For up-to-the-minute updates, please follow us on Facebook (“Timucuan Parks Foundation”), Instagram or Twitter (@timucuanparks). Also, we don’t have information on every park out there (not to mention the extent of damage that will still need to be dealt with) so if you have additional information please let us know!

 

Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve (National Park Service) areas:

    • Cedar Point – CLOSED
    • Fort Caroline National Memorial – OPEN (cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 9-12)
    • Kingsley Plantation – OPEN
    • Ribault Monument – OPEN
    • Theodore Roosevelt Area – CLOSED

State Parks:

  • Big Talbot Island State Park – OPEN
  • Fort George Island Cultural State Park – CLOSED
  • George Crady Bridge – OPEN
  • Little Talbot Island State Park – OPEN (cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, September 23, 9-12)
  • Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park – OPEN
  • Yellow Bluff Fort Historic State Park – OPEN

  • Alimacani Park and Boat Ramp – CLOSED
  • Arlington Lions Club and Boat Ramp – CLOSED

  • Cedar Point Preserve – CLOSED
  • Dutton Islands I and II – CLOSED
  • Huguenot Memorial Park – CLOSED
  • Jacksonville Arboretum and Gardens – OPEN
  • Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail – OPEN (but only from Imeson to Otis Road)
  • Julington-Durbin Creek Preserve – OPEN (but only to the first bridge)
  • Katheryn Abbey Hanna Park – OPEN (cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 9-12)
  • Reddie Point Preserve – OPEN
  • Sal Taylor Preserve – CLOSED
  • Seaton Creek Historic Preserve – CLOSED
  • Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park – CLOSED
